SOA Workshop (a practical introduction to service-oriented architectures)

Topic

Many companies are currently interested in service-oriented architectures, also known as SOA. At the same time, all of the major producers are trying to position themselves as SOA providers.
But, opinions still vary greatly on what exactly defines an SOA, with views ranging from simple Web Service implementations to process-driven bus-based systems.
This workshop provides the student with a solid introduction to the subject of service-oriented architectures. It will show where it makes sense to use SOAs and explain the important aspects of launching an SOA.

Knowledge of distributed applications and Web Services will be beneficial but not mandatory.
